My Appreciation For The Kindness Of Others

It goes without saying that the kindness of family, friends and partners is a natural and very real thing.

It is entrenched in them to care for you which is the purest form of being kind. Whether this manifests itself through helping you move home or just being there to listen.

This is the type of kindness that is always with you in your life. It’s a constant.

However, recently I have had the opportunity to fully appreciate the kindness of strangers because of The Bro Show.

As we move in to Season Two of the show we have made the conscious decision that there will always be a third person with us (scheduling issues aside) as this definitely creates a more engaging show with more in-depth discussion due to the additional perspective this person(s) would bring.

These appearances are an additional definition of kindness for me. It all started with the wondrous Patrick Rhone, followed by the stupendous Dave Caolo, then the marvelous Brett Kelly, the fantastic Jeff Cannata and next week the awesome Don MacAllister.

All of these people have taken a chance on our show, with all agreeing to appear without any kind of compensation and after being on, wanting to appear again. It still blows my mind that they seem to actually enjoy talking to us each time as well as the show itself.

All of the successes that we have had so far and will continue to have are because of these people deciding to give those ‘two blokes from London’ a shot.

And that’s truly awesome!

PS I would like to extend thanks to my beautiful lady for putting up with me too. She’s far too kind to me whilst I’m constantly working on the show and allowing me the time to help it grow! (LoveYou!)

PPS This post was inspired by a kind gesture from Mr. Rhone

The Bro Show Episode 30- Looks Like Oil In Water →

We were lucky enough to be joined by Jeff Cannata of the Totally Rad Show on this weeks episode.
This was quite an achievement and an honour for us as not only are we massive fans, The Bro Show came to be from inspiration of this show.
Even down to some of our segment choices.

It was a surreal experience, but an amazing one.

Me and Terry have been very lucky to have such great support with our guests/hosts and Jeff is another amazing name to add to that list.

My iOS 4.2 Disaster

So all went well initially. Sorted out my iPad and iPhone4 with their brand-spanking new software last night and went about my day today.

Happy to see multitasking on my iPad and a snazzy new noise when I receive text messages that makes me feel like a detective in a fifties movie.

However, disaster struck this evening. my iPad couldn’t connect to WiFi.

It believed it could, and for all intents and purposes it appeared it could but I was continually being met with error messages.

After a dig around what google could offer and after attempting the many different different and peculiar ‘solutions’ (turn this off, turn that off, count to ten, pace five times, make a wish, but it a chocolate drink, etc) I was met with absolutely no joy.

So I figured I’d restore it. Lo’ and Behold, one hour later I have realised that apps that you download do not get included in a back-up if you choose not to sync them.

So now I have also lost this data too as the previous back-up has now been wiped. Hurrah! (not)

I am now sitting here with my iPad, now downgraded to 3.2.2 with all my apps back on, but with none of the saved data.

I have lost my completed Angry Birds and Cut The Rope, as well as all the comics in my Comic Zeal, etc, etc.

I think it’s safe to say I may have learned my lesson.

Next time I’ll hold fire for 24 hours before jumping in with a build, even if it is GM.

Now excuse me, I have ropes to cut and pigs to slay..

Does anybody want a Podcast?

I’m looking to break out of this 9-5 malarky..

If you want a podcast produced then hit me up! Maybe we can make it happen..

If you like my stuff (thebroshow) then you’ll love what I can do for you.

Hit Me Up!

I’d put more work in to it if I was a ‘professional’

iOS 4.2

Currently using my Developer Status to download the GM of iOS 4.2 for my iPhone and iPad.

The iPhone will be ready to rock tonight, but I may leave the iPad for tomorrow, simply because it takes and absolute age to back up…

I’m only doing this now because I’m severely impatient with these things. The GM will undoubtedly be released to the public in the next couple of weeks.

If there’s anything super-exciting (other than new SMS tones- Wheeeee!) then I shall endeavour to report back.

If it’s legal to do so…

'Things we learned at the Back To The Future Reunion' →

Good article from Gizmodo (boo) following a cast reunion celebrating the Blu Ray release.

I’m sure my BTTF posts will stop soon.. Maybe I should’ve made a separate tribute blog..

My MacBook Air Dilemma →

I can honestly say that I am having difficulty with this one..
I was impressed by the first Air. The form-factor was truly something to behold (no pun intended) and this one just blows it out of the water.

The 11.6 inch form factor seems interesting; having something with that power in such a small package could be extremely useful.

The only reason I haven’t committed myself to eventually purchasing one is because I am unable to see just where it would fit in my life. There just isn’t space between my machine at work, my iMac, iPhone and iPad.

These machines all fill the specific requirements I need them to and I cant see space in my computer life for anything else.
I know I use the iPad more than most (it’s my sole leisure computer at home. My iMac is used to record the podcast only) so that’s one thing out.
If I could use my own computer at work then I would find the space. But right now there just simply isn’t one.

Maybe my feelings will change once I actually touch one of these things. But right now I’m set up pretty well.
